DR Congo and the host country of the of the 2015 African Cup of Nations, Equatorial Guinea have finally progressed to the semifinal stage of the tournament.
DR Congo sent Congo departing with a 4 – 2 scoreline
while Equatorial Guinea also defeated Tunisia 2 – 1 to keep flag flying and keep their fans excited beyond belief.
Congo had the best opportunity of the game after taking the lead with two goals from Ferebory Dore and Thievy Bifouma in the 55th and 62nd minutes but a remarkable comeback drive saw Congo DR recording four goals between the 65th and 91st minutes from Dieudonne Mbokani, Jeremy Bokila, Joel Kimwaki Mpele and Dieudonne Mbokani to claim victory.
Likewise, a 70th minute strike from Ahmed Akaachi almost got Tunisia through to the semifinal before a 93rd minute penalty awarded in favour of the host nation forced the game into extra time as Javier Balboa scored his second goal of the match in the 102nd minute to seal up the game.
